Always a wide range of acoustic grand pianos

Pianometropool is a recognized dealer of a number of world famous brands including: Blüthner / Haessler / Irmler (Germany) Yamaha (Japan) and we supply used pianos of almost all major brands including: Grotrian Steinweg / Schimmel / Bechstein / Bösendorfer / Steinway & Sons and many others.

A grand piano is an ornament in the room. Do you prefer a warm romantic sound or a clear brilliant tone? A heavy touch that you really have to ‘work’ for or just a light touch? A long grand piano has more body than a baby size. This is due to the longer strings and the larger soundboard. However, it is careful to look at the space. A large grand piano sounds best in a spacious room. There are many brands from different countries.

Tips for buying an acoustic grand piano

1: Decide where to place your grand piano

How big is the space? Which floor do you have? What materials are used in the space, are there many glass areas?
Each grand piano has its own sound character which comes into its own in the right environment. A very clear / sharp tone can quickly become too bright in an empty room with a lot of glass and a hard floor, for example…

2: Choose the grand piano length

An ‘open door’ but still important: The longer the grand piano, the fuller the tone and the louder the volume.
The length depends on your taste and the available space.

3: Determine your price range

Do you immediately opt for a top brand grand piano to play on for the rest of your life or do you choose a middle or entry-level class which you can later exchange for a better one?

As a benchmark: A new (baby) grand piano starts at about 9000 euros. A good used grand piano starts at about 7000 euros. Top brands including Blüthner and Steinway can go up to more than 100.000 euros.

4: The most famous brands

Steinway & Sons (New York and Hamburg) – Blüthner (Leipzig) – Bösendorfer (Austria) – Fazioli (Italy) – Yamaha (Japan) – Kawai (Japan) – C.Bechstein (Germany)

5: Visit the store

This is the most important tip. Every grand piano plays and sounds different. In our showroom you can easily compare all brands and come to the right decision.
