These upright pianos are excellent for studying or learning to play. Due to its modest size, it has a friendly soft sound (not sharp). As we are used to from Yamaha, the touch is light. In general, we prefer Yamaha's U series (U1 and U3 models) over the B and P series. The Yamaha U series upright pianos have an absolutely superior build compared to the cheaper B series, although the price-quality ratio of the B1 piano is more than reasonable. In our opinion, the Yamaha B1 piano is a great alternative to the US09L upright piano from George Steck, which is also available.
